The Nordfriesland Museum in Husum, known as one of the most important museums on the west coast of Schleswig-Holstein, has a history steeped in tradition. It goes all the way back to the foundation begun by Ludwig Nissens (1855-1924), who emigrated from Husum to New York in 1872, and began a life as a diamond merchant, eventually becoming prosperous and highly influential. Nissen established the foundation and, in 1937, the museum was opened.
In 2006, the museum was completely renovated, and the exhibition redesigned.
mawa Design, in cooperation with Jan Blieske from the office of Dinnebier, designed a surface-mounted spotlight specifically for these exhibit rooms, with a compact housing containing the necessary transformer. This spotlight version extended the palette of the wittenberg spotlight system with an additional variation.
